Swansea – West Ham

Swansea City will take on West Ham United in an anticipated relegation battle, set to be played in the 29th round of the Premier League.

Swansea is sitting on the 18th place and lost 1-4 at Brighton in the last Premier League outing, but things are actually not bad at all with the club. Swansea managed to get out of an impossible situation after Carlos Carvalhal was appointed as manager late in December, and the team has been in fantastic form recently. That 1-4 loss at Brighton was Swansea`s only loss in the last 12 matches in all competitions (!!), and they rebounded well with a 2-0 Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday midweek – resting some players in the process.

West Ham`s form has been shaky lately, and the visitors are fully involved in the relegation battle, sitting just 3 points ahead of the red zone and ahead of Swansea. West Ham`s previous game was a 1-4 loss at Liverpool last weekend, a result which was actually their 3rd loss in the last 5 games in all competitions. The Hammers also won just once (in regular time) in their last 7 games – and that`s with West Ham having a pretty easy schedule during this stretch.

Team news & lineups:

Both teams have injury problems. Swansea will miss Sanches, Fer, Bony, Rangel and possibly Britton. West Ham will be without Carroll, Obiang, Fernandes and Masuaku, while Evra and Lanzini are doubtful.

Swansea City: Fabianski – Naughton, Hoorn, Fernandez, Mawson, Olsson – Dyer, Carroll, Sung-Yueng, Clucas – J. Ayew

West Ham United: Adrian – Collins, Ogbonna, Cresswell – Zabaleta, Kouyate, Noble, Antonio – Mario, Arnautovic, Lanzini

West Ham has the better team on paper, but Swansea is playing the better football of the two, both short and long term.

Not only are the Swans in very good form, but they have been unbeatable at home recently, winning 6 matches in a row in all competitions, even beating the likes of Liverpool or Arsenal (and deserving to do so). This will definitely give them a lot of confidence coming into this clash, even if they do miss a couple of important guys.

The hosts have the first chance here, and Swansea draw no bet seems like a reasonably safe choice, at pretty good odds as well. As such, my tip is Swansea continue bossing opponents at home and to win with a +0 asian handicap insurance. Odds on the bet are going down at the moment. Prediction: Swansea City – West Ham United 2-1

Pick: Swansea -0
